An important function has been assigned to me as the Minister of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Social Welfare, Probation and Child Care services of the Western Province on behalf of the people of the Province.

Important functions assigned to me are creation of a healthy community, provision of relief for the poor sections of the community who are socially helpless due to various causes of distress and province of custody, protection and securedness of the orphans and destitute children.

I have a drawn up a programme to efficiently maintain services for treatment and prevention of diseases and to improve the qualitativeness and quantitativeness of the Health Service for the creation of the healthy community in the Province. I hope to extend the establishment services of the Indigenous Medicine Department and to propagate the indigenous medical system locally and internationally by promoting the herbal gardens and production of herbal drugs. Steps have been taken to provide securedness to the low income earning senior citizens who have been rendered socially helpless, and to rehabilitate the vagrant women and provide them reaccess to the society. I am also expected to provide assistance financially and in kind in instances where the poor sections of the community who are socially helpless, have become victims of the unexpected disasters. I have also taken steps to provide securedness to the destitute and abused children and safeguard their rights and to launch child development programmes in the Province with the sponsorship of the Non-Government Organizations.

As a servant of the people I would frankly state that my sole objective and aim shall be to provide relieving particularly for the low income earning sections of the community in the Western Province through this important functional responsibilities assigned to me.
